Communicating Effectively in Today’s Ever-Changing Environment With Entrance Screens
How to manage your message and keep your audience informed and safe with digital signage entrance screens
Written by: Tim Bennink – VP of Accounts
Over the past few months, communication and the ability to communicate effectively has been proven exponentially important in many verticals. Messages have become more frequent and more urgent as the environment changes every day. As an end-user, are you prepped with the right digital tools in your toolbox to do so? As a content provider, are you focusing on the right things to make your clients successful? Well, let’s discuss this.
Theo Gold, the author of The Communication Bible, states, “Communication is your ticket to success, if you pay attention and learn to do it effectively.” Success can be measured in several ways, but let’s focus on the key component of keeping your customers/employees/etc. up to speed with the latest and greatest information…in a way that is most beneficial to them.
As the entire globe unites to fight the common foe of the coronavirus, consumers are getting bombarded with messages…emails, TV, social, texts, etc. all telling them something. Names like Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx have become common names at the dinner table. With every word spoken by these experts, businesses follow their lead and, in many cases, have changed policies, procedures, and everyday life seemingly every day. Being able to get clear, concise, uplifting, and effective messages to your targeted audience within minutes can create a little calm in this crazy storm of life right now.
Digital Signage Entrance Screens
I want to focus on one digital signage medium that stands head and shoulders above the rest with regards to capturing the most eyes and allowing end-users to quickly inform people of key new information. That medium is entrance screens.
Now, with that said, simply placing a screen near your entrance is not going to be enough. I’m talking about having a very strategic messaging strategy in a well-placed location that allows you to communicate as needed, but also gives you the ability to share critical information and beneficial information with your customers. Do you have special hours right now for certain groups of people? Do you offer special services to your customers to mitigate shopping risk? Are you going above and beyond to provide a safe shopping experience? Yes, you can post paper signs up everywhere, or you can control your messaging by doing it effectively digitally where everyone will see your messaging.
Mr. Rogers was an amazing man in my opinion with so much wisdom. His famous quote, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” Well, how are you helping your customers and team members? Are you REALLY helping them and doing the right thing for them? Are you providing the BEST and most memorable experience for them? Is what you are communicating, beneficial or not? If you have a successful DS channel, congratulations and well done! If you want to talk more about creating one, let us know. Be safe and make sure you help someone today.
